Yellowdig Receives Patent for Gamification Technology

online learning tool

The signature gamification features that make Yellowdig the best online learning tool have received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The specific element covered in this patent is Yellowdig’s prediction and alert system that identifies students who are at risk of dropping out.

Universities and other partners have already had immense success in improving retention rates as a result of using Yellowdig’s software. We are proud to have the distinctiveness of our product recognized, and happy to have it protected from being copied.

According to the founder and CEO, Shaunak Roy, “When I founded Yellowdig with a mission to enable community based learning in our classrooms, I naturally gravitated towards incorporating gamification in the platform. Motivating learners to take action on their own through a carefully designed incentive system seemed like a good idea. This has now proven very effective in engaging and retaining most “at-risk” students based on the data we have gathered from the 100,000+ classrooms that have adopted Yellowdig.”
