PROMISE Technology Steps Up as a Green Leader in Data Storage

PROMISE-Data-Storage

With the start of the new year, PROMISE Technology Inc. (“PROMISE”), the leading storage solutions provider, has revealed three data storage trends to watch in the New Year: Green data storage, Hybrid Cloud solutions, and NVMe technologies.

“With more than 30 years of experience in the storage industry, PROMISE is constantly anticipating trends and moves fast to provide state-of-the-art, future-proof solutions to customers in responding to the new tides. We are confident to collaborate with our ecosystem partners to offer integrated solutions to support our global customers and tackle the challenges in data management in today’s world, while growing the business of tomorrow in 2022,” said Alice Chang, Chief Sales Officer at PROMISE Technology.

Green Storage Solutions Now in Action

With mounting pressure to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, PROMISE predicts that sustainable data storage solutions will be one of the biggest trends in 2022. This comes as data storage growth is expected to surge resulting in the industry consuming approximately a fifth of global electricity by 2025.

This meteoric rise in demand, coupled with the tightening of green energy regulations in Europe and the US, means the decision to “go green” is no longer an option for businesses — it’s mandatory. Recognizing this, PROMISE has vowed to become a leader in green data storage across all aspects of business, including product design, development and production. The company has already developed products with a “green DNA”, such as the recently launched green high-density JBOD VTrak J5960, which harnesses cutting-edge technologies to reduce power consumption and lower thermal output.

Hybrid Cloud Models on the Rise to Mitigate Security Concern

82% of Americans say they worry about online security — and as of Q3 2021, the number of publicly reported data breaches had already exceeded the number of total breaches in 2020 by 17%. As cyber threats become more pervasive, companies are seeking increased security from their data storage solutions. While organizations traditionally had to choose between a costly private cloud option or a riskier public cloud option, today’s technologies are enabling a best-of-both-worlds approach with the hybrid cloud.

Anticipating a rise in demand, PROMISE will enable all product lines with a hybrid cloud function delivered by management software in 2022. PROMISE storage systems will connect to a ‘public cloud’ as well as a local server — maximizing flexibility and mitigating the security concern for enterprises.

NVMe Poised to be a Turning Point

Whether it’s high-resolution files and new content formats to the complex workflows demanded from AI, machine learning and edge applications, data storage transfer needs to be faster than ever. In turn, PROMISE forecasts that NVMe technologies will rise in popularity in 2022.

Widely adopted technologies like NVMe cache, NVMe over Fabrics and NVMe SSD are poised to experience rapid enterprise growth with the global market projected to increase at a 29.7% CAGR between 2020 to 2025. With promising impacts for data infrastructure design, PROMISE has already embraced NVMe with plans to roll out various products for each format throughout 2022 and 2023.
