Knowledge is power: Ask Kaspersky’s top experts anything

Reddit users will have the singular opportunity to directly ask Kaspersky’s world-renowned Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT) any questions, including ones about how the team tracks some of today’s most sophisticated hacker activity around the globe, as well as how they too can become an elite threat hunter.

Kaspersky’s GReAT team is an elite group of more than 40 threat hunters spread across 22 countries who work to uncover some of the most sophisticated and advanced threat activity every day—from state-sponsored cyberespionage campaigns and new advanced persistent threat actors (APT) to global ransomware epidemics and underground cybercriminal trends.

Since their founding in 2008, GReAT has divulged to the world critical details about consequential threat campaigns and such prolific cybercriminal groups as the now infamous gang of cyber robbers Carbanak and the notorious Equation. By the time news appeared about the Cozy Duke / Cozy Bear hacking group attacking DNC servers in 2016, GReAT had already been tracking their activity, having blogged about them one year before.

Now, on November 12, Reddit users will have the chance to tap into the minds of GReAT for firsthand insights into how they do what they do and for tips and tricks of the trade. What’s more, for those thinking about building a career in cybersecurity, this is a great chance to get questions answered about what it takes to break into the field and gain valuable advice on becoming a cybersecurity expert from some of today’s top researchers.

Users can begin posting their question on 12th November from 6:30 PM (IST) owards. All they have to do is log into their Reddit account and post their question to the dedicated AMA page. It will then be answered directly by one of Kaspersky’s GReAT team members.

“Some of today’s biggest battles are fought not on the ground, but in cyberspace against a threat landscape that is only becoming more challenging to unravel. Cybercriminals regularly upgrade their toolsets and master new, more sophisticated ways to attack their targets. We can’t keep the world safe by ourselves. The world needs more threat hunters, so please, come ask your questions,” says Costin Raiu, Director of GReAT.
