Harnessing the Power of AI and Embedded Tech: A Deep Dive with RP tech’s Rajesh Goenka and Vishwas Kanwar

RP tech is playing a pivotal role in driving innovation in both the ICT and embedded markets in India. By focusing on AI-driven solutions, facilitating local design capabilities, and addressing the unique challenges of the MSME sector, RP tech is helping shape the future of technology adoption in India. We had the opportunity to speak with Rajesh Goenka, CEO of RP tech, and Vishwas Kanwar, Business Unit Head – Embedded at RP tech, to explore the company’s strategic direction, emerging tech trends, and its role in shaping the future of India’s ICT distribution and embedded tech industry. From AI-driven solutions to fostering local design capabilities, both leaders shed light on how RP tech is positioning itself as a frontrunner in India’s technology ecosystem.

How has RP tech positioned itself in India’s ICT distribution industry, and what emerging trends are you seeing?

Rajesh Goenka: RP tech has carved a niche in the Indian ICT distribution space by focusing on emerging technologies and aligning with market demands. We are not just distributors; we provide comprehensive solutions for the ICT ecosystem. Currently, we are seeing rapid adoption of AI-driven technologies, particularly in sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. Additionally, with the government’s push for data localization, we are witnessing increased demand for AI-based data centers, and we are actively supporting this trend with our AI-powered distribution solutions.

You’ve mentioned AI-driven data centers. How is RP tech enabling the ICT sector to meet the challenges of AI integration?

Rajesh Goenka: One of our key focus areas is aligning our distribution strategy with AI ventures. We offer a range of AI-powered solutions, particularly in data centers where real-time data processing and analysis are critical. AI is transforming the ICT sector, and we see huge potential for growth. We are working closely with global brands like NVIDIA and Intel to provide state-of-the-art solutions that cater to the specific needs of businesses in India. These partnerships enable us to deliver end-to-end AI solutions, which help businesses optimize operations and reduce costs.

Shifting to the embedded market, how is AIoT driving the development of new embedded solutions, and what role does RP tech play in this ecosystem?

Vishwas Kanwar: The embedded market is undergoing significant transformation, largely driven by AIoT—Artificial Intelligence of Things. AIoT solutions are revolutionizing industries, from smart traffic monitoring to intelligent video analytics. At RP tech, we are leveraging platforms like NVIDIA’s Jetson to provide complete AIoT solutions that include pre-trained models, reducing design cycle times. Our aim is not just to sell hardware but to deliver software-enabled, ready-to-use solutions. For instance, in smart traffic systems, our solutions help with real-time vehicle counting, classification, and traffic violation detection—all processed at the point of event.

How is RP tech supporting customers with solutions for real-time applications in the embedded domain?

Vishwas Kanwar: We are enabling real-time applications with NVIDIA’s Jetson platform, which allows customers to integrate AI into their systems without starting from scratch. An example of this is the use of intelligent video analytics in automotive and smart cities, where real-time data processing is crucial. For instance, our embedded solutions can be used in vehicles for reverse parking or in smart traffic control systems to monitor signal violations and capture vehicle number plates. These solutions help businesses get to market faster and address specific operational challenges effectively.

Looking at RP tech’s focus on AI and ICT, what are some challenges the MSME sector faces, and how does RP tech help them overcome these hurdles?

Rajesh Goenka: The MSME sector faces challenges such as limited access to technology, financial constraints, and a lack of skilled manpower. At RP tech, we are addressing these issues by offering cost-effective ICT solutions tailored to MSMEs. We are also providing training and support through our partner network to ensure that small and medium businesses can adopt emerging technologies like AI without overwhelming financial investments. Our goal is to democratize access to cutting-edge technology so that every business, regardless of size, can benefit.

As embedded design decisions increasingly shift to India, what role does RP tech’s embedded business unit play in this transition?

Vishwas Kanwar: We are witnessing a shift where more design decisions are now being made locally in India. Previously, much of the design work was done abroad, but with the growing skill set in India and government incentives like the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, companies are now making critical design choices here. At RP tech, we facilitate this shift by providing the necessary hardware and software solutions and supporting our customers throughout the design-to-revenue cycle. Our embedded team comprises skilled engineers who understand the nuances of local requirements and can offer customized solutions.

How does RP tech ensure that it stays ahead of emerging trends in both the ICT and embedded markets?

Rajesh Goenka: Staying ahead in a rapidly changing tech landscape requires constant innovation and adaptation. At RP tech, we stay on top of trends by maintaining strong partnerships with global tech leaders like NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD. We also invest in R&D to ensure that we are providing the latest and most relevant solutions to our customers. Additionally, we are focusing on key growth segments such as AI, IoT, and cloud computing, and aligning our strategy with government initiatives like data localization and the push for domestic manufacturing.

Vishwas Kanwar: On the embedded side, we are continuously updating our portfolio to reflect the latest technological advancements, particularly in AIoT and automotive. We work closely with our customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that shorten the time from design to deployment. Our approach is centered on being a solution facilitator rather than just a product supplier.
