Ericsson Studios world over house innovations in mobile technologies and futuristic use-cases on 5G and IoT. Visitors at the Experience Studio can interact with subject experts and see how evolving technology ecosystems will drive the transformation of businesses and societies.

Ericsson recently also set up a 5G Center of Excellence and Innovation Lab at IIT Delhi. The initiative
is designed to fast-track 5G deployments in the country by bringing together telecom ecosystems,
academia, industry and start-ups Inaugurating the Ericsson Studio, Ms. Aruna Sundararajan Secretary, Department of Telecommunications (DOT), Govt. of India said, “I would like to congratulate Ericsson for setting up this Studio and Experience Center today. With the pace at which technology is evolving, initiatives like these provide for discussions and understanding of new technologies and their application in the real
world. The use-cases and innovations showcased today are truly cutting edge and reaffirm that
mobile technology will go a long way in delivering quality healthcare and better experiences for mobile
phone users, enterprise and the society overall.

capture the full value of connectivity. As in the case of the 5G Center of Excellence and Innovation
Hub , we are looking at the Ericsson Studio in Gurugram becoming the hub for innovation and
discussion on futuristic mobile technologies.

Key technology showcase at Ericsson Studio India include :-
5G Connected Drones: Drones are increasingly being used for city surveillance, emergency
response, patrol and inspections to improve operational efficiency & increase safety. Existing drone
solutions connect using local radio links with a limited range of operation. There is a huge potential in
connecting drones using 5G cellular networks.

Connected Urban Transport: Cities represent an ecosystem of residents, traffic, road infrastructure,
vehicles, bikes, fleet owners, public transport, logistics providers, neighbouring municipalities, just to
name a few. This ecosystem is complex, in the sense that there is a lot of fragmentation. The
Connected Urban Transport solution is designed to overcome this fragmentation, by monitoring and
optimizing the available assets in cities. With a central dashboard overview of all connected assets
that unites insights with actions, cities can solve their biggest traffic issues.

Internet of Skills: Internet of Skills refers to the ability of using communication networks that convey
not only images and sound, but the sense of touch, combined with virtual reality technologies.
Ericsson Research’s live demonstration is the next level of remote communication in healthcare
sector. It showcases the ability to examine remote patients and to transfer these skills through virtual
environment and haptic feedback over the network.

Mixed Reality Mining: Mixed Reality Mining demo displays the possibilities and future concepts on
the AR and VR which can be adapted for a mining use case. It offers users a chance to experiencewhat could be done with great connectivity, i.e. 5G, precise positioning, and augmented, mixed and
virtual reality (AR/MR/VR) in a mining context, with the primary aim to support the interplay between
human mine workers and automated systems.
