Last mile is the biggest challenge in supply chain, today. Owing to the lack of information about the exact date and time of delivery, a customer may not be present at the destination of delivery. Also, for cash on delivery orders, a customer may not be ready with cash in hand to pay at the time of delivery. In many cases, the buyer/receiver is aware of the day the parcel will be delivered, but not the exact time or time slot, which could lead to him not receiving the call at the time of delivery. Due to all these reasons, the shipments could go undelivered, leading to unsatisfied buyers awaiting their orders, and sellers losing orders in the bargain. Identifying these gaps, Rapid Delivery has designed a fool proof live tracking system, to enable customers to track the exact day and time on which their parcel will be delivered to them.
How does it work?
The entire working is regulated through an app. As a delivery agent heads out to deliver the parcels assigned to him, he is given a specific route to follow, by the system. Basis the route planned, a time window is estimated for the parcel to be delivered. Necessary breaks and stops are also accounted for, in the daily trip. As the delivery agent finishes the previous delivery and marks it on his app, the tracking link for the next order is sent to the buyer and he/she is able to track the order accurately.
Owing to the current situation of spread of the pandemic, the company also provides contact less delivery with OPT verification. Via the OTP, the delivery agent is able to handover the parcel to the security personnel, thereby ensuring that the buyer is not directly involved in the delivery.
