Intel Niti Aayog CBSE AIoT in school

To help build relevant skills among the students for an AI-fuelled world, Intel collaborated with CBSE and NITI Aayog to launch a program that integrates Artificial Intelligence and IoT (Internet of Things) across the school curriculum for classes 6th to 10th.

Integrating AI and Tinkering into curriculum pedagogy will enhance the learning outcomes of the students to make them ready for an AI-fuelled world.

This will help to nurture the spirit of innovation, invention & discovery in students. From coming up with an idea to designing a solution using the tools of tinkering and then creating a prototype using AI will help students get a complete understanding of the application of technology for social good.

The pilot project was launched jointly by NITI Aayog, CBSE, and Intel India on September 15, 2022, at NITI Aayog, New Delhi.

Delivering the keynote address Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director, Skills Education, Central Board of Secondary Education, reiterated the importance given by National Education Policy on developing the skills of students with respect to emerging technologies.

Ms. Shweta Khurana, Senior Director – APJ, Government Partnerships & Initiatives, Global

He talked about his belief that the program would potentially expand the usage and impact of tinkering labs and the AI curriculum in schools.

The AIoT Integration in School Curriculum manual was launched by the delegates and an orientation session was conducted for the Principals and the representatives of the schools by the Intel team.

Mr. RP Singh, Joint Secretary, Skill Education, CBSE elaborated on how the concept of AI and tinkering should be used by the teachers to help students understand the concepts of the subject and enhance the learning outcomes.

The participants were given an overview of the program as well as an introduction to AI and Tinkering, as well as discussions on the pedagogical implications of the AIoT Integration in Curriculum Program and how the program combined subject pedagogy, tinkering, and AI. A lesson plan focusing on the convergence of subjects – tinkering and AI – was shared with the participants.
