Bosch Global Software Technologies plants 2,000 saplings in Pune, reinforces commitment to sustainability

Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW) formerly known as Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions (RBEI), continued its commitment to sustainability by planting 2,000 saplings in Pune, in partnership with Forests by Heartfulness. The Pune campus of BGSW was inaugurated in March 2022 and began operations in April.

Speaking on the initiative, Amit Kumar Srivastava, Center Head, Pune, BGSW, said, “Bosch has always been committed to sustainability. At BGSW, while we are at the forefront of driving software-led technology innovation, we are also working with local communities to enhance their quality of life. With our NGO partner, Heartfulness, we will collaborate with local communities to nurture the saplings and provide relevant technology for geotagging and monitoring their growth to ensure nutrient management. BGSW believes that technology can and should be leveraged to make the world a greener, cleaner, and better place to live in. Additionally, earlier this week, along with the Pune Police Commissioner, Amitabh Gupta, we flagged off our bicycle-to-work initiative to encourage a healthier lifestyle for our associates and do our bit to control pollution and traffic in Pune”

Dr. V. Ramakanth – Director, Forests By Heartfulness said, “It’s good to see Bosch Global Software Technologies joining hands with Forests by Heartfulness in the noble cause of furthering the green initiative. Forests by Heartfulness has been striving to replenish the lost green cover in the country, at the same time we are trying to save and propagate the endangered and critically endangered plant varieties in the country. We must save the future of our planet by saving as many plants as possible. When each of us plants a sapling, we are not only giving it raising a new life, but also securing the planet for our children and the following generations. To see that corporates, want to come forward and make a difference by adopting some of these plants and grow a mini hub is very heart-warming.”

Earlier this year, BGSW joined hands with Forests by Heartfulness to commemorate 25 years of its excellence in India by planting over 25,000 saplings across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore and now Pune. This mini-forest plantation drive  focuses at improving biodiversity, combating city pollution, providing natural resources to the local communities, raising the local water table, and reducing atleast 5,000 tonnes of carbon emission over the next ten years.
